Team NASA, which consists of Mark Krzysztopik, Mike Cohen, Derek Marvin, Travis Kale, and Kenn Austin, mentored by Justin McCabe and Darren Hitt, will deliver an autonomous 1-Degree of Freedom vehicle by April 30th, 2008. The "Nano-SAT" will use an array of sensors to detect an infrared target, and then use a coupled control and cold-gas thruster system to move and stop underneath the target source. Time permitting the Nano-SAT will move in 2 or three degrees-of-freedom.
